We attended North Street Gospel Hall, Dalry before we were married and knew Flora and her family from then. In fact Flora's Dad, Tommy Alexander baptised both Kenneth and me when we were 17 years old. Fast forward many years to a Gideon National Convention held in Birmingham where we had the joy of meeting Flora and Cedric again. In Decembet 1987 we moved from Leamington Spa to Surrey and straight away made contact with Flora. Sadly Cedric was called home a week or so later. We continued to meet up with Flora and had good times together mainly through our Gideon work when we spoke at Women's meetings and met at branch meetings. We moved back to Leamington in 1990 where Flora visited us on many occasions and we spoke at length about the past. We were so pleased when she came to live in Rugby and our friendship was a very important link with the past for all of us. Flora was so full of fun and thankfulness. On our last visit in July last year we had a lovely time with her recalling many friends from our past in Dalry. She had such a lovely warm personality and we shall miss her. What a wonderful, kind and gracious woman of God! Flora was such a blessing to us during our time in Sevenoaks and at VEC...we will never forget her. She and Bill were our neighbours when we were renting Black Charles Barn from Max and Sue, and we had many wonderful times with them both. Sending our deepest condolences to her family. Our dear Flora will be remembered with love and fondness. What an inspiration she was. A room was lit by her vivacious smile and her warmth and generosity shone through. I’ll never forget Flora telling me that hospitality wasn’t about what you served but by the warmth in which you welcomed people. Boy- did she done that well. “Some of my best moments have been serving beans on toast.” She would say with a glint in her eye. You will be missed. Love Natalie Duan

It was a pleasure to have known Flora whilst at Vine Evangelical in Sevenoaks. From early on at Mothers and Others - a special place for survival of a mum with 5 children. They all remember her with fondness. I also loved visiting her in her flat in Vine Lodge, especially as her's was the converted kitchen of my old primary school! Many happy memories there and she got a friend to show me round one of my old classrooms - also beautifully converted. I often shared a baked potato and tuna with her in her little flat, and admired her many photos and 'interesting' bits and pieces - always appreciated by a fellow hoarder! My last visit to her was in Rugby when we took her to Sheila's Church - such a pleasure to have know her and she was always an inspiration, joy and would always be gossiping the gospel to whoever she met!

I too grew up in Dalry and was one year younger than Flora. I always remember her with deep affection, a vivacious and mischievous smile . We were in the Bible Class together so much of our young lives ran closely with each other. Her brother in law, Murdoch Davidson was my Sunday School teacher. It was a joy to meet up with Flora a few years ago at the Gideon Convention in Birmingham. Fondly remembered. Gordon Neilson.

RIP my dearest Aunt Flora and as I sit here in Cambodia I recall so clearly standing by you and with you at that final resting place in 1987. You gave me my name at birth and from the age of 5 you kindled the spark in me to experience the world and we shared those experiences together over the years. You were a rock in the family and great support to my mum, your sister Nettie during her own end of life trials. You will be forever missed and remembered in my own many ways.
